JKR Group, an inspiring Queensland-based construction company with a unique and powerful identity deeply rooted in Indigenous culture. Founded with a vision to redefine the construction industry, JKR Group has emerged to become a prominent player within the Queensland construction industry.

2005

JKR & Sons begins operations

James Roberts starts the company, managing construction of our first warehouse project in Canberra, Australia.

2010

Erects first multi-story building

JKR & Sons was engaged to deliver our first multi-story project. The company continues into the new decade with a number of notable projects awarded.

2013

Delivers first health project

JKR successfully erected 400 tonne of structural steel as part of the Gold Coast University Hospital Mental Health Unit.

2017

Championing Rural Australia

JKR completed the Western Victoria Livestock Exchange at Mortlake. Works included the fabrication and erection of structural steel and roofing for three (3) buildings with an overall roof span of 40,000m2.

2020

Works begin on Dubbo Regional Rail Facility

JKR began erection works on the Mindyarra Maintenance Centre in Dubbo. The project included the erection of over 2000 tonnes structural steel across 6 buildings.

Commitment to Safety

During the COVID-19 pandemic, JKR & Sons’ dedicated health and safety teams undertook initiatives to keep its workers safe, both on job sites and in offices, over the course of an unimaginable year.

Supply Nation Certification

JKR & Sons was recognised by Supply Nation the leader in supplier diversity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses to help shape today’s emerging and rapidly evolving Indigenous business sector.
